The best tea that will help relieve stress
Some of them, you know, or you don’t, or you might have tried or not. But, I’m here to tell you they might be the secret stress relief you need. Plus they’re super easy to make, adding no extra stress to your already stressed day. To get on with it;
Green tea
I’m starting with green tea because it’s my favorite tea, either in the morning or at night. My favorite green tea is Tetley decaf pure green tea, decaffeinated to 0.2%, with all the taste of pure green tea and none of the caffeine, (this is not an ad, just my recommendation, I’m not paid for it).
With so many health benefits, I find it relieves my stress level whenever I feel overwhelmed, or I might have gone through a lot of stress during the day. I love my green tea with ice for the day and a bit warm at night.
You feel the calming effect in your mind just immediately after a sip. It is also high in L-theanine, an amino acid that might reduce anxiety and keep you mentally alert and agile.
Chamomile tea
Chamomile tea is a natural beverage with a mild and warm flavor that helps you relieve stress, deal with anxiety and regulate your blood sugar.
Chamomile naturally stimulates weight loss (if that’s your goal). It has a great amount of calcium, potassium, and flavonoids. It has the ability to detox and cleanse the body and rid it of toxins and excess water. The true fact is that chamomile tea is a great healthy replacement for all other detox teas and caffeinated beverages.
A cup of hot chamomile tea before bedtime could help you get a restful sleep as well. That’s like solving two problems with one solution.
Grape juice
Am I suggesting fruit juice before bedtime? Yes! This is the road I’ve been told off, in the world of health. But, taking down your throat a 100ml of pure grape juice, without sugar, can aid you in
Grapes are rich in antioxidant which helps the body convert its bad fat to good fat. So, whenever it’s bedtime, wear your PJs and grab a drink (not your regular grape wine though)
Fermented soy drink
Whether you consume it in milk or powdered form it is equally beneficial and loaded with the protein tryptophan, an important protein (amino acid) that the body can’t make. This becomes important to the body because it acts as a precursor of serotonin (the happy hormone) and melatonin (which determines the sleep and wakefulness of the body) — both important for the mind to be active.
Therefore, it helps in improving sleep patterns and also decreases cortisol levels which help to give you relieve stress.
Kefir
I’m almost sure you never knew this drink can give your stress hormones a run. Yes, and I mean it.
Kefir is a fermented and cultured beverage that tastes almost like a yogurt drink that is rich in probiotics.
Kefir helps in the absorption of minerals and vitamins. Drinking kefir increases the healthy bacteria in the gut. If you include low-fat kefir in your diet, it will help you feel relieved while making you feel very full too.
Making this one of your bedtime drinks will help your body burn the calories quicker, and help get rid of the fat.
Cinnamon tea
This is my all-time second favorite bedtime after green tea drink which I accidentally discovered and surely won’t be living anytime soon. It keeps away hunger during the day while giving my body’s metabolism a boost. Naturally, cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants, and antibiotic properties and is totally healthy from every angle.
Adding cinnamon into your fruit, vegetable, and spice combos can work well for you as a detox drink, and also consuming this wonder potion in form of tea during the day benefits your entire body. You can combine it with honey to make it more palatable because surely it doesn’t taste too good as tea without a little honey.
I have a whole lot of ways to blend cinnamon into my diet; either with my oats or as a spice in my veggie stew or soup.
To make cinnamon tea, you’ll need 1 cup of boiling water and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Mix them together and allow them to steep for around 20-30 minutes.
Cherry and aloe vera drink
When you don’t get enough sleep, the body can’t function well to repair and reset itself, which will leave you feeling tired when you wake up. And this often leads to stress and stress eating.
Cherry is known to have properties that can tackle insomnia and increase melatonin levels and the powerful properties of Aloe-Vera stimulate weight loss.
Making a drink out of these combos can be the best bedtime drink you have ever known that can help you sleep your stress away just with a sip.
Fenugreek tea
Fenugreek seeds have the ability to facilitate body repair and are great for stress relief. It also acts as a great antacid and helps strengthen the digestive system.
Fenugreek goes beyond rendering a spellbinding aroma and a distinct flavor to your meals, if used diligently, the ingredient can promise good health and a stronger immune system.
You can crush these seeds and add them to boiled water. Cover and steep the seeds for at least three to five minutes and sieve them in a cup.
Aside from helping you relieve stress, there are a lot of benefits attached to these teas, such like
- Good sleep
