January 12, 2023 · In: Good Habit

Habits are tiny decisions you make, that can define your life over time. Good habits positively add flavor to your life while bad habits undermine you negatively.

So it’s up to you the kind of habits you want to build over time.

Here is the list of good habits that will change your life

Say a prayer

Do you believe in God, talk to Him? Prayer is communication, you shouldn’t be in a hurry. Talk to God and allow him to speak to you too. Having a good prayer habit set you in motion to conquer anything and everything.

Sunlight basking

Early morning sun is a good source of vitamin D which is good for you.

Use your sunscreen

Protect your skin from UV rays, and use sunscreen as much as you are going to be under the sunlight. Apply it to the areas that are being exposed to the sun.

Make your bed

Kick-start your day by making your bed and keeping it dressed.

Change your bed sheets

Nothing beats clean and freshly washed bed sheets. Clean bed sheets keep the acne away from you and improve your sleeping conditions.

Brush your mouth

Mouth odor is bad, brushing your mouth at least twice daily is a good habit that keeps your mouth feeling fresh and odor-free.

Exercise your body

Since I started my early morning exercise, I have lost 3kg. Exercise keeps you agile and fit for daily tasks. Try it. Start with any exercise you feel comfortable with for a much healthy living.

Positive affirmations

Speak to existence all the positivity you want in your day. This kind of talk has a way of boosting your self-confidence and happiness.

Plan your meal ahead

Taking out time to plan what you eat, and when you eat can help you keep up a healthy lifestyle while reducing your intake of sugar and junk. You’ll have enough time to make sure it contains all the necessary vitamins and minerals required for a healthy body.

Set rewards for yourself

Did you hit your target goals? Give yourself a good treat – and use it as motivation to be productive.

Make your decisions

Don’t allow people to make decisions for you. Decide your life and be responsible for it.

Set goals

Setting goals helps you be more productive and accountable for yourself. You can start by adding any of these habits as a daily goal to achieve and reward yourself with another of these habits.

Cook your meal

Cooking your food helps your control what enters your body.

Eat mindfully

Our eating habits impact our physical, emotional, and mental health. A little food is ok at a time. Share your food in smaller portions and be satisfied with it.

Drink enough water

Water detoxifies your body. Try at least 7 glass cups of water per day. To make it less boring, add a slice of lemon or any fruit of your choice.

Create a morning routine

Having a morning routine is important because it’ll help you start the day and be productive.

Declutter your email

That uneasy feeling you feel when your emails are left unattended can drain your mood. Form a habit of checking your emails and deleting unrelated, unwanted spam from your inbox folder.

Get a planner

To stick to your routine and track your growth you will need a digital printable planner to help you. Check on Etsy to purchase.

I have a free self-care planner you can feel free to download, it’s a 13 pages planner to help you stick to your daily self-care routine.

Buy things you only need

I want this red tote, it’s beautiful. But do I need it? No! So, I am not buying it. Learn to buy what you need, save money, and keep your space simple and organized. That’s why I go with my market list planner so I don’t go overboard.

Practice Gratitude

My favorite daily habit that changes my life. Read here how gratitude change my life

Gratitude can cut out your inner grin and negative vibes and put you on a positive track. All you need is consistency.

Meditate

5 mins head up and no noise, you will be able to mindfully think straight, navigating through your thoughts,

Get out and socialize

Dress up, go to an event, and catch a good laugh, you will be surprised about one or two things you will learn from some unfamiliar faces.

Start a skincare routine

I have a simple skincare routine, just scrub, wash, hydrate, essence, and moisturize. You can’t be looking older than yourself, you need to maintain your God-given skin.

Bath Atleast Once

Bathing is good personal hygiene. Bath as much as you sweat, and at least twice daily.

Start saving

My last savings helped me during that period. I was spending without feeling uncomfortable, and yet I still had the reserve to start up another saving this year. It is a good habit, that will help you curtail your so much want and put you on a target.

Start Investing

invest in yourself- you can start by buying a course on Udemy to learn a skill for yourself. I started front-end web dev skills that helped me set up my blog by myself. Invest in things that appreciate over time rather than depreciate

Volunteer

Volunteer within your community to assist in an event to encourage and strengthen someone who could need help. It is a selfless act of kindness. How do you feel when you volunteer to do good?

Set Healthy Boundaries

Healthy boundaries mean good boundaries. Place a limit around your time, your body, emotions, and your mental health, to stay resilient, solid, and true to yourself.

Declutter your space

Decluttering your space can reduce stress and anxiety. Remove whatever you don’t need to make it more pleasant and organized.

Make time for your hobbies

Finding time for your hobbies can trigger that genuine happiness, improve your mental health and spark inspiration.

Manage your finances

Being in control of your finance gives you a better perspective on how you’re spending your money and where you’re spending it. To help you build yourself and stay in control of your spending habits.

Connect with nature

Find a space to stay in touch with nature. You can grow flowers, plants, or vegetables. And if planting isn’t your thing, you can also connect to nature through stories and art.

Sleep enough

More sleep, more healthy body, soul, and mind. Give yourself enough sleep, especially after a busy day.

Be environment friend

Discard your waste properly. Be eco-conscious with your actions.

Walk more

Have enough time? Take a walk instead of taking the bus. I used the fitness app on my phone to track my daily steps, I was surprised how my simple walk count reaches 4000 and above daily. Try it.

Challenge yourself

What have you wanted to do for yourself? Challenge yourself positively and do it.

Take less soda

Reduce your intake of carbonated drinks for a more healthy living.

Limit your digital time

Limit your screen time, for good and more healthy eyes.

Frequent health checkups

Create time, and make sure to get frequent medical checkups, to ensure you are healthy. Prevention they say is better than cure.

Don’t miss breakfast

Breakfast is an important meal of the day, don’t miss it!

Start a side hustle

Aside from blogging, I have a backyard poultry farm, and I brood and sell native and broiler chicken. Side hustles can compensate for your finance and help you stay afloat financially

Go less on processed food

Junk and processed food damage our health, take it slow with it. That’s more reason you need to plan your meal, so you have a bucket list of menus to choose from.

Read the ingredients before buying

There’s a reason the producers list the ingredient and content of their product. Read it before you buy, who knows you can detect some of your allergies.

Never procrastinate

Do it now, don’t wait for late. Procrastination steals time and dreams away.

Learn to say no

People will take advantage of you if you are saying no to some of their requests. Be sure to say No, when you don’t feel like granting any request. And don’t feel guilty about it.

Update your calendar with key dates and events.

A calendar is a great way to stay on schedule and on time, day after day, while also planning for the future.

Use your calendar to stay on time and organized.

Visit your dentist

Your oral health is very important. Go check your teeth for any decay or gum issues.

Give Back

Do you have little to spare out of your many? Donate! Maybe your clothes, shoes, or a few dollar or cents. It will go a long way to assist someone in need.

Take your vitamins

Some time ago I was depleted of vitamin B, don’t be like me. Take your vitamins, they are important. I use Wellwoman for my age range.

Have a rest day

Take a rest and do nothing. You deserve it, and your body needs it.
